Technical FAQ

Questions that come up repeatedly in support.

Why is my success rate lower than advertised

Our published rate measures requests that reached the target and returned a response — it is a network figure, not a promise about any specific site. If a target blocks you, the request succeeded from our side. The usual causes are over-narrow targeting, reused sessions after a block, and request headers that contradict the exit's geography.

Can I see which IPs I used

Yes. Every response carries x-wproxy-exit-ip, and the usage API can group by exit. We retain that mapping for 30 days for your own account; we do not retain the contents of your traffic at all.

Do you log my traffic

We log connection metadata — timestamp, sub-user, bytes, target hostname, status — because billing and abuse handling are impossible without it. We do not log request bodies, response bodies, headers or URLs beyond the hostname, and we cannot produce them.

Why did my sticky session change address

The peer went offline. Residential and mobile exits are real devices on real connections. Watch for x-wproxy-session-rotated: true and treat it as a logged-out session.

Can I use wproxy from a browser directly

Yes, though it is rarely what you want. Configure the proxy in your OS or browser settings and it will prompt for credentials. For casual manual testing, the browser extension in the dashboard is easier and lets you switch country from a menu.

Do you support UDP

Not currently. SOCKS5 UDP associate is on the roadmap but not deployed; today everything is TCP.

What happens to my sub-users if I cancel

They stay configured but stop authenticating. Reactivating a plan brings the same usernames and passwords back exactly as they were, which matters if they are baked into deployed infrastructure.
